Florianopolis Open: Tomljanovic storms into final

Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic advanced to the final of the Florianopolis Open by winning against Mexican Renata Zarazua 6-1, 6-1 on Saturday evening.

Ajla Tomljanovic will play Martina Capurro Taborda next.

Earlier in the tournament, the Australian beat Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro (6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-3), Ipek Oz (5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-5) and Romanian Miriam Bulgaru (7-6 (5), 6-2).

Zarazua, ranked No 151, won against Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 7 seed (7-5, 6-2), Greek Despina Papamichail (6-4, 6-2) and Sara Bejlek (6-3, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Brazilian tournament.
