Australian Open: Golubic edges past Siniakova to make third round
Viktorija Golubic edged out Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 on Thursday night and will play Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 19 seed, in the next round

Swiss Viktorija Golubic reached the third round of the Australian Open by edging out Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 at Melbourne Park.
Golubic, ranked No 85, will face Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 19 seed, next.
In the previous round, the Swiss defeated Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 15 seed (7-6 (4), 1-6, 6-1).
Siniakova, ranked No 49, won against Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-2, 7-5) in the first round.
