French qualifier Alize Cornet moved into the second round of the Cluj-Napoca Open by defeating Belgian Yanina Wickmayer 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 at the BTarena on Tuesday.
Cornet, ranked No 104 in the world, will face Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the top seed, next.
