Rotterdam Open: Ruusuvuori knocks out Ugo Humbert to move into second round

Finn Emil Ruusuvuori beat Ugo Humbert, the No 7 seed, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Rotterdam Open at the Rotterdam Ahoy.

Ruusuvuori improves his head-to-head against the Frenchman to 5-0, having beaten Humbert across all three surfaces.

Humbert, champion in Marseille last week, was a break up in the final set having fought back from a one-set deficit, but could not get over the line as the Finn won five of the last six games to reach round two.

Ruusuvuori, ranked No 55, will play German Jan-Lennard Struff next.
