Dubai Open: Defending champion Medvedev comes from a set down to reach last eight

Russian Daniil Medvedev, the top seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Dubai Open by beating Italian Lorenzo Sonego 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Wednesday evening.
Medvedev is now on a 23-match unbeaten streak against opponents ranked outside the Top 30 on hard courts.
Medvedev, ranked No 4, will play the winner of the match between Jakub Mensik and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Dubai tournament, the Russian won against Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko (6-3, 7-5).
Sonego, ranked No 48, won against Indian wildcard Sumit Nagal (6-4, 5-7, 6-1) in the first round of the Dubai tournament.
