Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the second seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open by winning against Brazilian Laura Pigossi 6-0, 6-2 at the Club Deportivo Potosino on Friday night.
Cocciaretto, ranked No 51, will face the winner of the match between Italian Lucrezia Stefanini and Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 4 seed, next.
The Italian beat Romanian Irina Bara (6-1, 6-2) and edged out Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (3-6, 6-2, 7-5) in the previous rounds of the San Luis Potosi tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Pigossi, ranked No 116, defeated Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (7-5, 6-3) and edged out Chinese qualifier Xiaodi You (5-7, 6-2, 7-5).
