Alcaraz pulls out of Barcelona with arm injury
The Spaniard will now target Madrid for his first event of the European clay-court season

Carlos Alcaraz has pulled out of next week’s Barcelona Open due to the right arm injury that also saw him miss Monte-Carlo.
The Wimbledon champion trained all week with a view to kick-starting his European clay-court season but is still experiencing discomfort and the tournament announced his withdrawal on social media.
The news is another blow to Alcaraz’s Roland-Garros preparations. The Spaniard is now expected to get himself ready for the Madrid Masters, which begins later this month.

The Barcelona Open said Alcaraz would be on site at the tournament on Monday to formerly announce his withdrawal.
