Barcelona Open: Norrie moves into quarter-finals

No 12 seed Cameron Norrie won against Spanish wildcard Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Barcelona Open at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Thursday.
Norrie, ranked No 31, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 13 seed, and American Brandon Nakashima next.
Norrie benefitted from the abandonment of French qualifier Harold Mayot (7-6 (3), 6-7 (6), 0-0) in the previous round. Bautista Agut, ranked No 84, beat Russian Roman Safiullin (6-3, 7-6 (8)) and Italian lucky loser Andrea Vavassori (4-6, 6-3, 6-1).
