Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 3 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Rabat Open by defeating Argentinian Nadia Podoroska 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Tuesday.
Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 46, will play the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif and Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle next.
In the previous round of the Rabat tournament, the Spaniard won against Harriet Dart (6-2, 6-0).
Podoroska, ranked No 59, beat German Tatjana Maria (6-2, 6-4) in the previous round of the Rabat tournament.
