American Taylor Fritz, the No 12 seed, reached the last 16 of Roland-Garros by beating Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (4), 5-7, 6-3 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Saturday evening.
Fritz, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 28 seed, and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 7 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against Argentinian Federico Coria (2-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1) and edged out Serb Dusan Lajovic (6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Kokkinakis, ranked No 100, won against Alexei Popyrin (4-6, 7-6 (8), 6-3, 5-7, 6-3) and eventually overcame Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri (1-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Roland-Garros 2024.
