Italian Sara Errani, the No 4 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Veneto Open promoted by Regione del Veneto by winning against Alexandra Eala of the Philippines 6-0, 7-6 (3) on Friday evening.
Errani, ranked No 91, will play American Bernarda Pera, the No 8 seed, next.
The 37-year-old Italian defeated Serb Natalija Stevanovic (6-2, 6-4) and Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (7-6 (4), 7-5) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Eala, ranked No 169, won against Frenchwoman Carole Monnet (6-3, 7-5) and Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone (6-3, 6-3).
