Mallorca Open: Monfils battles past Bautista Agut to make last four

Frenchman Gael Monfils, the No 6 seed, edged out Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to advance to the last 4 of the Mallorca Open at Mallorca Country Club.
Monfils, ranked No 40, will face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 37-year-old Frenchman won against Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem (6-3, 7-6 (3)) and Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-3, 6-4).
Bautista Agut, ranked No 122, beat Japanese Taro Daniel (6-1, 6-0) and edged out Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the second seed (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Mallorca tournament.
