Generali Open: Gaston ousts top seed Baez in thriller to reach semis
The Frenchman will face Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta for a place in the final

Frenchman Hugo Gaston moved into the semi-finals of the Generali Open by edging out Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the top seed, in a three-set thriller on Thursday.
Gaston won 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (6) at Kitzbühel Tennis Club to advance to the last four. The world No 91 will face Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta next.
Earlier in the week, the Frenchman edged out German Daniel Altmaier (6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-4) and won against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 7 seed (6-2, 7-6 (5)).
Baez, ranked No 18, beat Thiago Agustin Tirante (6-3, 6-3) in the previous round of the tournament.
