Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 7 seed, won against Latvian Darja Semenistaja 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Montreux Nestlé Open on Saturday.
Begu, ranked No 130, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 4 seed, and Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko next.
In the previous rounds, the 34-year-old Romanian defeated Swiss Celine Naef (6-0, 6-3), Brazilian Laura Pigossi (6-3, 6-0) and Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-3, 6-3).
Semenistaja, ranked No 134, beat Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (6-4, 2-6, 6-4), German Mona Barthel (0-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Romanian Anca Todoni (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
