Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 4 seed, beat American Hailey Baptiste 6-3, 6-3 to move into the last 8 of the Hong Kong 125 Open on Thursday.
Gracheva, ranked No 62, will face Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens next.
The Frenchwoman won against Chinese qualifier YeXin Ma (0-6, 6-1, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Baptiste, ranked No 111, defeated Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (7-5, 6-1).
