Almaty Open: Diallo beats Coric to reach first ATP Tour quarter-final
The Canadian will meet the winner of the match between German Maximilian Marterer and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the second seed, in the next round

Canada’s Gabriel Diallo won against Croat Borna Coric 7-6 (1), 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Almaty Open at Almaty Arena on Wednesday.
Diallo, ranked No 118, will play the winner of the match between German Maximilian Marterer and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the second seed, in the quarter-final, which will be his first at the ATP Tour level.
The Canadian defeated Australian Christopher O’Connell (7-6 (5), 6-2) in the previous round of the tournament.
Earlier in the week Coric, ranked No 96, won against Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, the No 7 seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)).
