Swiss Indoors: Rune moves into last four

Dane Holger Rune, the No 4 seed, moved into the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors by beating Belgian lucky loser David Goffin 6-2, 6-4 at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel on Friday.
Rune, ranked No 14, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Canadian wildcard Denis Shapovalov next.
The 21-year-old Dane won against Chilean Nicolas Jarry (6-4, 7-6 (3)) and Swiss wildcard Dominic Stricker (6-3, 7-6 (2)) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Basel tournament, Goffin, ranked No 54, defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2) and edged out Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 5 seed (3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7)).
