Pole Katarzyna Kawa edged out American Varvara Lepchenko, the No 9 seed, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 to move into the last 16 of the IEB + Argentina Open on Tuesday afternoon.
Kawa, ranked No 296, will face Hungarian Panna Udvardy next.
