Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 4 seed, moved into the last 16 of the IEB + Argentina Open by defeating Ukrainian Valeriya Strakhova 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 on Tuesday.
Sherif, ranked No 100, will face Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic next.
