Fils, Mensik in Red Group at Next Gen ATP Finals

The groups for the Next Gen ATP Finals, which is being held in Jeddah, was released on Sunday with Arthur Fils, the top seed, being put in the Red group as 19-year-old Czech Jakub Mensik.

Meanwhile, second seed Alex Michelsen and Shang Juncheng are among the players in the Blue Group.

Fils and Mensik are joined by American Learner Tien and Brazilian  Joao Fonseca. Michelsen and Juncheng are joined by Frenchman Luca Van Assche and American Nishesh Basavareddy.

Players will face off against others in their group in the round-robin stage with the top two from each group moving into the knockout semi-finals.

Group matches begin on Wednesday and go on to Friday with the semi-finals being held on Saturday and the final on Sunday.

Hyeon Chung, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Brandon Nakashima and Hamad Medjedovic are former champions in the event.
