WTA Adelaide: Putintseva beats Jabeur to reach quarter-finals

Kazakh Yulia Putintseva beat Tunisian wildcard Ons Jabeur 6-2, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the WTA Adelaide International at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Wednesday.
This was her first win over the Tunisian in four career meetings, having lost all three previous ones in straight sets.
Putintseva, ranked No 25, will play Russian Diana Shnaider, the No 6 seed, next.
The Kazakh won against Croat Donna Vekic (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the tournament.
Earlier in the week, Jabeur, ranked No 40, defeated American Danielle Collins, the No 4 seed (7-6 (6), 6-2).
