Austin Open: Tomljanovic makes quarter-finals

Australian wildcard Ajla Tomljanovic reached the quarter-finals of the Austin Open by beating Jodie Burrage 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the Westwood Country Club on Wednesday.
Tomljanovic, ranked No 111, will play the winner of the match between Australian Kimberly Birrell and Japanese qualifier Ena Shibahara next.
In the previous round of the Austin tournament, the Australian won against American Katie Volynets, the No 7 seed (7-6 (3), 7-5).
Burrage, ranked No 189, edged out wildcard Petra Kvitova (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the first round of the Austin tournament.
