Wawrinka clinches first win on ATP Tour since October

Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka moved into the second round of the Bucharest Open by edging out Kazakh qualifier Timofey Skatov 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (1) at the Năstase & Marica Sports Club on Tuesday.
Wawrinka, ranked No 161, will play second seed Pedro Martinez Portero next. It was his first win on the ATP Tour since he made round two in Basle last October.
The Swiss became the third-oldest man, at 40, to win a match on clay on the ATP Tour, coming from 5-3 down in the final set to clinch victory, having served for the match at 6-5 in the second and squandered three match points.
