No 7 seed Danielle Collins won against Robin Montgomery 6-3, 6-1 to move into the last 16 of the Charleston Open at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Collins, ranked No 22, will face the winner of the match between Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 11 seed, and American qualifier Louisa Chirico next.
Montgomery, ranked No 105, defeated Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round of the Charleston tournament.
