Marrakech Open: Majchrzak beats De Jong to move into last eight

Pole qualifier Kamil Majchrzak beat Dutchman Jesper De Jong 7-6 (3), 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Marrakech Open at Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech.

Majchrzak, ranked No 122, will play Frenchman Alexandre Muller, the No 3 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Pole won against Spaniard Jaume Munar, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-3).

De Jong, ranked No 98, won against Moroccan wildcard Elliot Benchetrit (7-5, 6-1) in the previous round of the Marrakech tournament.
