Roland-Garros: Musetti into last 16

Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 8 seed, moved into the last 16 of Roland-Garros by beating Argentinian Mariano Navone 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Friday.
He is the highest-ranked player left in the third quarter of the draw after No 4 seed Taylor Fritz lost to Daniel Altmaier in the first round, and has now equalled his best result at Roland-Garros, having reached the fourth round in 2021 and 2023.
Musetti, ranked No 7, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Quentin Halys and Dane Holger Rune, the No 10 seed, next.
The Italian won against German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann (7-5, 6-2, 6-0) and Colombian lucky loser Daniel Elahi Galan (6-4, 6-0, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Roland-Garros 2025, Navone, ranked No 97, won against American Brandon Nakashima, the No 28 seed (7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-1, 6-2) and American Reilly Opelka (6-1, 7-6 (1), 6-3).
