Final Frenchman Fils injured, out of Roland-Garros
There are now no Frenchmen left in the singles draw

The news broke at 8.48pm with an email from the FFT announcing Arthur Fils’ withdrawal with these few lines: “Due to injury, Arthur Fils is forced to withdraw from the Roland-Garros 2025 tournament. He will hold a press conference tomorrow, Saturday 31 May, at 10.30am in interview room 1.”
Fils will not be able to continue his Parisian adventure. It was apparent during his second-round match against Spain’s Jaume Munar that he had suffered an injury to his back as well as cramp, but nevertheless he won in five sets and celebrated in style.
The Frenchman posted on his Instagram story a few minutes after the email from the FFT, saying: “Hello everyone, it is with great sadness that I am forced to withdraw from this tournament that I love. It’s a difficult but necessary decision after medical advice. Thank you all for your support. I look forward to coming back to RG next year. See you soon.”
With Fils’ withdrawal and the defeat of Quentin Halys on Friday, there are no more French men in the singles draw at Roland-Garros.
