Roland-Garros: Griekspoor makes last 16, takes out qualifier Quinn

Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor moved into the last 16 of Roland-Garros by winning against American qualifier Ethan Quinn 4-6, 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-4.

Griekspoor, ranked No 35, will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, and Italian Flavio Cobolli next.

The Dutchman edged out American Marcos Giron (4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5) and beat Canadian Gabriel Diallo (7-5, 7-6 (3), 1-6, 6-3) ahead of his victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Quinn, ranked No 106, benefited from the abandonment of Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 16 seed (2-6, 3-6, 6-2) and defeated Kazakh lucky loser Alexander Shevchenko (6-4, 4-6, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3), 7-5).
