American Coco Gauff, the second seed, won against French wildcard Lois Boisson 6-1, 6-2 to move into the final of Roland-Garros on Thursday evening.
Gauff, ranked No 2, will play Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, next.
This is the end of an extraordinary run for Boisson. In the previous rounds, the French wildcard, ranked No 361, won against Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 24 seed (6-4, 4-6, 6-3), Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-1, 6-2), wildcard Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 0-6, 7-5), American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) and Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 6 seed (7-6 (6), 6-3)
