Lucky loser Brooksby battles past Humbert to make Eastbourne Open final
Jenson Brooksby edged out Ugo Humbert 6-7 (7), 6-4, 6-4 and will face either Taylor Fritz or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 6 seed, in the final

American lucky loser Jenson Brooksby edged out Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 4 seed, 6-7 (7), 6-4, 6-4 to reach the final of the Eastbourne Open at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club.
It is the first time in ATP Eastbourne history that a lucky loser has reached the final, and Brooksby was good value for his win, having to recover from losing a tight first set to reach his fifth ATP final and second on a grass court.
All three sets included large swings of momentum, with Brooksby finally sealing the win on his third match point, having served for the match just a couple of games earlier.
Brooksby, ranked No 149, will face the winner of the match between American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 6 seed, next.
The American beat Argentinian Francisco Comesana (7-6 (6), 6-4), Portuguese Nuno Borges, the No 8 seed (6-4, 6-4) and wildcard Daniel Evans (6-2, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Humbert, ranked No 20, won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego (7-5, 6-4) and lucky loser Billy Harris (7-6 (4), 6-1).
