Iasi Open: Teichmann moves into final

Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 6 seed, advanced to the final of the Iasi Open by defeating Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-3 at the Ciric Sports Base on Saturday.
Teichmann, ranked No 102, will face the winner of the match between No 7 seed Irina-Camelia Begu and second seed Jaqueline Cristian next.
The Swiss won against Simona Waltert (5-7, 6-1, 7-5), Pole Maja Chwalinska (7-6 (5), 6-2) and Romanian wildcard Miriam Bulgaru (1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Iasi tournament, Cirstea, ranked No 166, beat Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (6-1, 6-4), Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva, the No 5 seed (6-2, 6-4) and Mihaela Buzarnescu (6-2, 6-2).
