American Ann Li, the second seed, beat New Zealander qualifier Lulu Sun 7-6 (6), 6-2 to lift the Guangzhou Open trophy at the Nansha International Tennis Center on Sunday night.
Li won her second career WTA title in Guangzhou!
In the previous rounds of the Guangzhou tournament, Li, ranked No 44, defeated Chinese wildcard Shuai Zhang (5-2 ret.), Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-3, 6-4), Colombian Camila Osorio (7-5, 6-2) and Andorran lucky loser Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-4, 7-6 (4)).
