Belgrade Open: Hanfmann moves into semi-finals, Djokovic next

German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann defeated American Marcos Giron 7-6 (3), 6-4 to advance to the last four of the Belgrade Open at the Belgrade Arena on Thursday evening.

Hanfmann, ranked No 117, will play Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, next.

The 33-year-old German edged out Czech lucky loser Vit Kopriva (6-2, 5-7, 7-5) and won against Bulgarian wildcard Ivan Ivanov (6-4, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Belgrade tournament.
