Czech Tomas Machac, the No 8 seed, won against Spaniard Jaume Munar 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last four of the Adelaide International on Thursday night.
Machac, ranked No 35, will play the winner of the match between Australian qualifier Aleksandar Vukic and American Tommy Paul, the second seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Czech defeated French qualifier Quentin Halys (6-4, 6-2) and Australian wildcard James Duckworth (6-3, 6-3).
Munar, ranked No 38, edged out Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 3 seed (3-6, 7-5, 6-4) and beat German Daniel Altmaier (6-3, 6-0) in the previous rounds.
