Frenchman Ugo Humbert moved into the final of the Adelaide International by edging out Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the top seed, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (4) on Friday night.
Humbert, ranked No 36, will face Czech Tomas Machac, the No 8 seed, next.
The Frenchman defeated Kazakh qualifier Alexander Shevchenko (6-0, 6-3), Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 4 seed (6-4, 6-1) and Terence Atmane (6-3, 7-6 (3)) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 15, won against Monégasque Valentin Vacherot, the No 5 seed (7-6 (4), 6-2) and Australian wildcard Rinky Hijikata (6-3, 6-2).
