ATP rankings: Draper pops, Kyrgios rocks, Carreno Busta to 14

Jack Draper is on the cusp of the top-50 after reaching his first Masters 1000 quarter-final, while Nick Kyrgios continues to climb.

Jack Draper notched his first top-10 win in Montreal, and parlayed that victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas to a maiden Masters quarter-final. On Monday, he’ll receive a new career-high ranking as a result. Draper climbs to the cusp of the top-50 and he isn’t the only one making moves.

Draper has come a long way

Draper was 265 in the world when the 2022 season started, so he is now up over 200 spots in less than eight months, an incredible rise for the talented southpaw who has a very bright future in the sport.

He rises 27 spots from 82 to 55 this week, and could soon be making his top-50 debut. The sky is the limit for the talented Brit.

Kyrgios continues his climb, now projects as a US Open seed

Nick Kyrgios was knocked out in the quarter-finals by Hubert Hurkacz in Montreal, but the Aussie still gets a pretty nice rankings bump for his efforts. The Wimbledon finalist is up another nine spots to 28 in the world, which means he’s going to be seeded at the US Open – great news for Kyrgios, and for the rest of the seeds.

If you’re scoring at home, Kygios was ranked 137 on February 2nd.

Career-high for Tommy Paul

It was a good week for American Tommy Paul, who knocked off Carlos Alcaraz in Montreal, saving a match point in the process. By reaching the quarter-finals at Montreal (his first M1000 QF), Paul will bump up three spots to a career-high No 31 – looks like he’ll be seeded in New York also.

Dan Evans jumps 16 spots thanks to his semi-final in Montreal, from 39 to 23, while Pablo Carreno Busta, the maiden Masters 1000 winner in Montreal, rises nine spots to 14.

Camilo Ugo Caribelli of Argentina jumps 25 spots after winning the Lima Challenger title. He makes his top-100 debut at 96. Russia’s Roman Safiulin also jumps 25 after winning the Chicago title, he comes in at 97, also a top-100 debut.
