Adelaide Open: Nakashima advances to second round

American Brandon Nakashima, the No 7 seed, reached the second round of the Adelaide Open by defeating German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre on Tuesday.

Nakashima, ranked No 37, will face the winner of the match between Belgian David Goffin and Australian lucky loser Rinky Hijikata next.
