Alert: Dimitrov upsets Alcaraz in Miami quarter-finals

Grigor Dimitrov, the No 11 seed, defeated top seed Carlos Alcaraz 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the semi-finals of the Miami Masters at the Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday night.

Dimitrov, ranked No 12, will next play German Alexander Zverev, the No 4 seed.

In the previous rounds of the Miami Open, the Bulgarian beat Chilean Alejandro Tabilo (6-7 (5), 7-6 (5), 6-2), German Yannick Hanfmann (6-1, 6-0) and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 8 seed (3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3)).

Alcaraz, ranked No 2, defeated Roberto Carballes Baena (6-2, 6-1), Frenchman Gael Monfils (6-2, 6-4) and Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 23 seed (6-3, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
