Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the No 3 seed, won against Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (4) to advance to the final of the Rome Masters at the Foro Italico in Roma on Friday.
Alcaraz, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, and American Tommy Paul, the No 11 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 22-year-old Spaniard defeated Serb qualifier Dusan Lajovic (6-3, 6-3), Serb Laslo Djere (7-6 (2), 6-2), Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 23 seed (6-3, 3-6, 7-5) and No 5 seed Jack Draper (6-4, 6-4).
Musetti, ranked No 9, won against Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen (6-3, 6-2), American Brandon Nakashima, the No 28 seed (6-4, 6-3), Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 10 seed (7-5, 6-4) and German Alexander Zverev, the second seed (7-6 (1), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
