Argentina Open: Juan Manual Cerundolo moves into second round

The Argentine will play the winner of the match between Italian Luciano Darderi and Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed, in the next round

Qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo reached the second round of the Argentina Open by edging out qualifier Roman Andres Burruchaga 7-6 (4), 4-2, 7-5 on Tuesday.

Cerundolo, ranked No 139, will play his brother, Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed, next at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.

This will be the second meeting between the two brothers on the pro circuit with Francisco winning the first in 2021.
