Astana Open: Korda battles past Griekspoor to reach the semi-finals
Sebastian Korda won against Tallon Griekspoor 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. He’ll play Serb wildcard Hamad Medjedovic in the next round

American Sebastian Korda, the No 5 seed, advanced to the last 4 of the Astana Open by winning against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the top seed, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 at the Daulet National Tennis Center.
Korda, ranked No 28, will play Serb wildcard Hamad Medjedovic next.
Ahead of his victory, the American edged out Australian Alexei Popyrin (7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-4) and defeated Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-4, 7-6 (4)).
Griekspoor, ranked No 24, won against Japanese qualifier Sho Shimabukuro (7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-1) in the previous round of the Nur-Sultan tournament.
