Atlanta Open: Tiafoe reaches last eight, meets Nishioka next
The third-seeded American defeated Aslan Karatsev 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 on Thursday

American Frances Tiafoe, the No 3 seed, won against Russian Aslan Karatsev 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Atlanta Open on Thursday.
Tiafoe, ranked No 29, will play Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka next at the ATP 250 event being held at the Atlanta Athletic Club
In the previous round of the tournament, Karatsev, ranked No 107, beat qualifier Billy Harris (6-2, 6-2) while Tiafoe had received a first-round bye.
The American is working with David Witt, the former coach of Jessica Pegula, this week.
