Daniil Medvedev continued to reign at the top of the ATP rankings, starting his 10th week as world No 1 on Monday. The Russian, who was forced to sit out of Wimbledon due to the ban on Russian and Belarusian players, will make his return to the tour next week in Los Cabos, Mexico.

The 26-year-old leads a stagnant top 4 this week as he is followed by Germany’s Alexander Zverev at No 2, Spain’s Rafael Nadal at No 3 and Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas at No 4.

Carlos Alcaraz, still more than nine months shy of his 20th birthday, makes his top 5 debut this week as he moves up one spot to No 5 after reaching the final at the ATP 500 Hamburg Open.

Despite defending his Gstaad title, Norway’s Casper Ruud drops one position to No 6. The rest of the top 10 is also unchanged with Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic at No 7, Andrey Rublev at No 8, Felix Auger-Aliassime at No 9, and Jannik Sinner at No 10.

Matteo Berrettini, the runner-up to Ruud in Gstaad and now winner of 12 of his last 13 matches, climbs up one spot to No 14. Argentine Francisco Cerundolo, who reached the semis in Hamburg, moves up six positions to No 24, also a career-high for the 23-year-old.

Elsewhere, Slovakia’s Alex Molcan, who is now working with Djokovic’s former coach Marian Vajda, jumps 10 spots to a new career-high of No 38 after reaching the Hamburg semis.

Former US Open champion Dominic Thiem, who won three matches in Gstaad to reach his first ATP semi-final in 14 months, returns to the top 200 this week, climbing up 75 positions to No 199.
