Top seed Carlos Alcaraz moved into the quarter-finals of the Barcelona Open by winning against No 13 seed Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3, 7-5 at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Thursday.
Alcaraz, ranked No 2, will play Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 10 seed, next.
Carlos Alcaraz beat Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3, 6-1) in the previous round of the Barcelona tournament.
During the second round of the Barcelona tournament, Bautista Agut, ranked No 25, won against Bernabe Zapata Miralles (6-2, 6-2).
