Barcelona Open: Davidovich Fokina into last 16

Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 10 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Barcelona Open by defeating Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-3 at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Tuesday.

Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 38, will face the winner of the match between Finn Emil Ruusuvuori and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 5 seed, next.

Etcheverry, ranked No 59, won against Spanish wildcard Pablo Andujar (6-2, 7-5) in the previous round of the Barcelona tournament.
