In a commanding performance, Jannik Sinner clinched the 2025 China Open men’s singles title with a 6-2, 6-2 win over rising American Learner Tien. The victory marks Sinner’s third title of the season and the 21st tour-level trophy of his career.

Among players who made their debut on the ATP-tour this century, only Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz (23/30 each) have won more titles from their first 30 ATP-level finals than Jannik Sinner (21)

From the very first game, Sinner set the tone. He immediately broke Tien’s serve and never looked back, maintaining tight control over baseline exchanges and applying pressure on return games. Tien, contesting his first ATP final and seeking to become the youngest American champion since Andy Roddick in 2002, offered spirited resistance but was unable to sustain it.

It is a very, very special place for me

In the second set, Tien earned two break points, but Sinner fended them off and then built momentum to close out the match decisively. It is the second time in his career, after 2023, that the World No. 1 has triumphed in Beijing.

“It is a very, very special place for me,” Sinner said during the trophy presentation. “My team, thanks for understanding and working with me. Not all the team is here, so hopefully the rest are watching from home. Thanks for working with me and we will try to improve and push for more and let’s see what the rest of the season looks like, but I am very happy to share this [trophy] with all of you.”

Sinner’s performance metrics speak volumes. He struck 24 winners against just 16 unforced errors, saved both break points he faced, and won about 73 % of his net points (8 out of 11). With this title, he became only the third man after Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal to win multiple China Open titles.
