Belgrade Open: Kovacevic reaches second round, faces Medjedovic next
The American defeated Branko Djuric 6-2, 6-2 in the first round on Monday

American Aleksandar Kovacevic defeated Serb qualifier Branko Djuric 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the Belgrade Open at the Belgrade Arena on Monday.
This was Kovacevic’s first win on the ATP Tour since reaching the third round in Washington in August. He had lost five matches in a row on the main Tour since then.
The 19-year-old Djuric was making his debut on the ATP Tour this week.
Kovacevic, ranked No 101, will face Serb wildcard Hamad Medjedovic next. The Serb leads the head-to-head between the two players by 1-0.
