Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 4 seed, moved into the final of the BMW Open by beating American Taylor Fritz, the second seed, 6-4, 7-6 (2) at the MTTC Iphitos complex in Munich on Saturday.

Van De Zandschulp, ranked No 29, will play Dane Holger Rune, the top seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Dutchman won against Russian qualifier Aslan Karatsev (6-2, 6-0) and American Marcos Giron (7-6 (5), 6-3).

Fritz, ranked No 10, defeated Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Austrian Dominic Thiem (6-3, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
