Bucharest Open: Navone beats Barrere to book spot in final

Argentinian Mariano Navone, the No 5 seed, beat French qualifier Gregoire Barrere 6-3, 6-4 to reach the final of the Bucharest Open at the National Tennis Centre.

Navone, ranked No 52, will play Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the final.

The Argentinian beat Italian Luciano Darderi (6-2, 6-3), Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild (6-3, 2-6, 7-5) and top seed Francisco Cerundolo (5-7, 6-4, 7-5) ahead of his victory.

In the previous rounds of the Bucharest tournament, Barrere, ranked No 128, won against Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis (7-5, 6-3), American Sebastian Korda, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-4) and Spaniard Pedro Martinez, the No 8 seed (6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-4).
