Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 7 seed, beat Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the last 8 of the Chengdu Open at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Saturday night.

Kecmanovic, ranked No 47, will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, and Russian qualifier Pavel Kotov next.

In the previous round of the Chengdu tournament, the Serb won against Zimbabwean qualifier Benjamin Lock (6-2, 6-3).

Moutet, ranked No 122, defeated Chinese wildcard Tao Mu (6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Chengdu tournament.
